A Florida law to keep felons from profiting on stories about their crimes will get its first use in the case of a woman convicted in the suicide of her daughter who was a nude dancer, the state said. Theresa Jackson, found guilty of mental child abuse almost a year ago in Ft. Lauderdale, has agreed to abide by the 10-year-old law, Atty. Gen. Bob Butterworth said. Jackson, 41, thought to be the first parent criminally convicted in a child’s suicide, has agreed to set aside certain amounts from any film, television or book income she receives related to the death of her 17-year-old daughter, Butterworth said. So far, no one has paid for the story of Tina Mancini, who shot herself in March, 1986, two months after she began working as a nude dancer.
