Financially troubled Maxicare Health Plans Inc. has engaged Goldman, Sachs & Co. to provide financial advisory services in connection with a restructuring of the health-care company’s capitalization. Terms of the restructuring will be determined after Maxicare, an operator of prepaid medical plans called health maintenance organizations, completes its new business plan sometime in December. Any restructuring will be subject to approval by the California Department of Corporations.
