More razzle-dazzle has come to South Coast Plaza.

Tiffany & Co., the famed jeweler, opened its doors there the other day with enough glitzy merchandise to suit the county’s most determined diamond hunter.

The stainless steel doors and marble-trimmed windows showcase several rooms full of the glamorous diamonds, precious metals and crystal that the New York-based company is famous for.

And through today, the 9,500-square-foot store will showcase the Diamonds of Tiffany--an eyepopping display of diamond jewelry.

The multimillion-dollar collection includes nearly 30 diamond pieces, including oval diamond necklaces set in platinum and a spectacular diamond necklace with a matching 30-carat ring. But you haven’t seen big until you’ve laid eyes on the $7-million 150-carat yellow diamond surrounded by 23 pear-shaped and marquise diamonds. (The diamond necklace it’s attached to is extra.)

If those are too rich for your wallet, Tiffany also has lead-crystal wine glasses ($48 for a set of four), a sterling silver candle-snuffer with walnut handle ($85), and a 3-inch porcelain candy box ($27).

The Costa Mesa store is the first in an expansion plan that includes adding stores in Detroit, Philadelphia and Washington.
