BP America Co. said it is acquiring a refinery and certain marketing assets from Mobil Oil Co. in its first major move to establish retail outlets on the West Coast. The deal calls for its Sohio Oil Co. subsidiary to purchase Mobil’s 79,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Ferndale, Wash., and Mobil’s 30% ownership in the Olympic Pipe Line Co. for $152.5 million. The deal is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
