The state of Colorado, which says it is a cheaper place to live and do business, is planning a $250,000 advertising blitz in Southern California to lure business away. The campaign will feature print ads in the Los Angeles Times and local editions of national business publications. It offers the example of a struggling California business that turned a $300,000 loss into a $200,000 annual profit by relocating to Colorado. A Denver-based publicist says: “We think there’s a tremendous opportunity to show that Colorado is a bargain compared to California.”
