Local News in Brief : American Legion Post Honors Hahn
County Supervisor Kenneth Hahn on Monday was presented the first Gen. Douglas MacArthur Award of Honor by the Monrovia American Legion post for his prolonged efforts on behalf of military veterans.
Hahn, who was a Navy officer in the South Pacific during World War II, is a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He established the Los Angeles County Veterans Food Bank and was instrumental in preserving Patriotic Hall on Figueroa Street as a meeting place for veterans’ groups.
