Occidental Petroleum Corp.’s third-quarter earnings jumped 128% to $105 million, boosted by the strong performance of its chemical operations. Revenue for the Los Angeles-based energy giant rose 16.7% to $4.9 billion. A gain by its chemical operations was led by Cain Chemical Inc., which Occidental acquired in May.
