A Fullerton woman has been arrested for allegedly hiring undercover officers to kill her sister in order to claim a family inheritance, police said.

Alice Marie Reidhead, 33, was arrested Tuesday at 7:25 p.m. after meeting with undercover Cypress police officers posing as murderers for hire in a motel room near Lincoln Avenue and Walker Street, Cypress Police Lt. John Schaefer said Wednesday.

Reidhead had given officers a down payment of $800 to murder her sister, Karen Ann Meadows, 35, of Anaheim, he said.

“This meeting was the final stage of a monthlong investigation,” Schaefer said.

Reidhead had agreed to pay the officers a total of $1,500, the remaining $700 to be paid after the killing was completed, Schaefer said.

“The motive for wanting her sister killed appears to be related to inheritance of family money or property,” Schaefer said.

Police Sgt. Gene Komrosky, who is in charge of the investigation, said police have not yet spoken with Meadows, the intended victim.

“We have not confirmed with the victim whether it was inheritance and what the dollar amount was, whether it was in property or money or what,” Komrosky said.

Reidhead was being held at Cypress City Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail, he said.
