2 Wanted in Killing of Officer Surrender to L.A. TV Reporter

A gang member and his girlfriend who had been fugitives since a Los Angeles police officer was gunned down Sept. 3 surrendered before dawn this morning to a television news reporter.

Kirkton Moore, 27, the alleged triggerman, and Raylene Brooks, 17, who allegedly drove the car during the shooting, met KTLA reporter Warren Wilson in Las Vegas and returned to Los Angeles with him.

The drive-by shooting of Officer Daniel Pratt, 30, had been reenacted Sunday on Fox Television’s “America’s Most Wanted,” and a $40,000 reward had been offered for the capture of Moore and Brooks.

Moore allegedly told police that the television show about the crime had made running harder.

“After that,” he said, “I couldn’t even trust my mother.”
