The Veterans Administration said it is lowering its maximum interest rate for the home loans it guarantees to 10% from 10.5%, saying the move is a response to falling interest rates. The decrease in the maximum rate that can be charged for VA-guaranteed loans, which is seen as a benchmark for other government-insured home loans, is effective today.
