Local News in Brief : 3 Bombs Found in Northrop Building

Three bombs were found Monday in a building at Northrop Corp. in El Segundo, forcing about 200 people to evacuate the defense and aerospace firm while the devices were disarmed, authorities said.
El Segundo police had no suspects in custody but believed a “disgruntled employee” may have left the “incendiary devices,” Lt. Mike Lunsford said.
Employees found the bombs in a training facility building at the company’s aircraft division shortly after 11 a.m. and notified plant security officers who contacted the Police and Fire departments, Northrop spokesman Terry Clawson said.
Workers were evacuated while the police bomb squad disarmed the devices, which Lunsford described as “sufficient to devastate the building,” and used bomb-sniffing dogs to search for others.
