Gulf Nations Discuss Clearing of Waterway

KUWAIT —
Persian Gulf nations began a two-day meeting in Kuwait on Monday to discuss ways of clearing the waterway of mines, oil slicks, sunken ships and other debris from the eight-year Iran-Iraq War.
Iran, Iraq and the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council gathered for the emergency meeting, hosted by the Regional Organization for Protecting the Maritime Environment.
