Computer Automation Inc. reported that its net income for the first quarter of fiscal 1989 declined to $102,000. The Irvine-based company posted net income of $426,000 for the comparable period a year ago. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 totaled $5.4 million, down 4% from the $5.6 million recorded for the year-earlier period. George Pratt, chairman and chief executive, said the decline was the result of a greater portion of total revenue arising from lower-margin European distributor sales and the consolidation of Talon Technology Corp., which was acquired in March 1988.
