WWII Bomb Found

FRANKFURT, West Germany —
Workers digging a subway tunnel unearthed a U.S. World War II bomb beneath the Frankfurt Zoo, forcing closure of the popular site while experts disarmed the device, officials said Thursday.
The 1,100-pound bomb had two functional detonaters and was defused at the site by demolition experts, Hesse state officials said.
