THE REPUBLICAN EDGE

The hurdle facing a Democratic candidate for office in Orange County is apparent when looking at that most basic of political signposts--voter registration. In only two cities in the county, Santa Ana and Stanton, do Democrats outnumber Republicans, and countywide, the GOP has a huge quarter-million-vote edge. Here’s how registration breaks down:
