Delphi Information Earns $711,000 in 2nd Quarter

Delphi Information Systems said it earned $711,000, or 16 cents a share, in the second quarter, which ended Sept. 30, compared to a loss of $102,000 a year earlier. Sales rose 15% to $5.7 million in the quarter.

The Westlake Village company, which sells computer equipment and software for insurance agents and brokers, said the results included an initial payment of $1.5 million from CIGNA as part of a contract that could generate $40 million in revenue for Delphi over five years.

For the first 6 months of its fiscal year, Delphi earned $409,000, or 9 cents a share, compared to a loss of $81,000 a year earlier. Revenue was flat in the period, falling 1% from the year-earlier period to $10 million.
