Dutch Police Protest

AMSTERDAM —
Thousands of Dutch police officers took to the streets Thursday to protest a government-proposed restructuring of pay scales and what they claim amounts to a nationwide manpower reduction. In Amsterdam alone, an estimated 1,500 members of the municipal police force took part in a rush hour demonstration that caused chaos in the city center.
