Probing the Extent of Major Psychiatric Illnesses

Share

If a deodorant company were failing, it might try to convince more people that they smell and thus that they need the product. So now is psychiatry trying to broaden the base of its potential customers by redefining anything from checking to see if the stove is off to Alzheimer’s disease as “mental illness.”

Their solution? Introverting “therapy” and dangerous drugs. Increased funding to psychiatry has paralleled the rise of crime, teen suicide and drug abuse. Heeding the plug for money (via increased inclusion of psychiatry in insurance plans and more state and federal funding) would increase mental and societal troubles for real.
