A Washington utility has agreed to a settlement for its part in the Washington Public Power Supply System securities fraud case, leaving only three private companies as defendants in the 2-month-old trial. In agreeing to settle, the Snohomish County Public Utility District joined 14 other Washington state utilities that reached a $226-million settlement with WPPSS bondholders. The agreement also takes Chemical Bank of New York out of the case.
