Panamanian police arrested a civilian employee of the Pentagon near the country’s presidential palace, and he has been charged with “endangering national security,” a U.S. military spokesman said. He reported that Mark Conrad was arrested Friday while allegedly “making drawings of insignia and uniforms” of guards posted around the palace. A Panamanian military spokesman said he had no information about the incident. Conrad works at the U.S. Army South Tropical Test Center, which tests the effects of tropical weather on military equipment.
