ATLAS Board Asks More Talk on 99-Seat Plan

The executive board of ATLAS (the Associated Theatres of Los Angeles) has requested more discussion with the Western Advisory Board of Actors’ Equity Assn. in the continuing effort by both sides to reach a mutually acceptable version of Equity’s Actors’ 99-Seat Theatre Plan.

According to ATLAS representative Laura Zucker, a revised version of the plan submitted to ATLAS Wednesday addressed some of the group’s concerns, but not enough. The plan, devised by Equity, covers working conditions in theaters of 99 seats or fewer.

Equity’s George Ives said Thursday that he was hoping a meeting could be set up expeditiously, perhaps as early as today.
