Campbell Soup. Co. said its first-quarter earnings fell 27% to $69.4 million from year-ago results, which were swelled by a one-time accounting adjustment. The Camden, N.J.-based food company said that excluding the accounting change for income taxes, results were up 11% from a year ago. Revenue rose 13% to $1.33 billion from a year earlier. The company said operating earnings rose 21% at Campbell U.S.A., the firm’s largest division.
