Two railroad mechanics whose negligence led to a train wreck last year in which 106 people were killed have been sentenced to 12 years each in prison, Tass said Thursday.

The mechanics were the last to check the brakes on a freight train that slammed into a Moscow-bound night express at the Kamenskaya station near Rostov.
