Datapoint Corp. reported net income of $2.8 million for the first quarter ended Oct. 29, more than triple that in the 1987 period. Revenue rose to $73.5 million, up $3.3 million. Datapoint, headquartered in San Antonio, produces network-driven computer and communications products and systems for business and government worldwide. The firm cited the successful introduction of several new products in announcing its seventh consecutive profitable quarter.
