Irvine : Airport Monorail Plan Will Be Hearing Topic

Share

A proposal to build a monorail connecting John Wayne Airport with a McDonnell Douglas Realty Co. office complex will be the subject of a public hearing Monday before the Irvine Transportation Commission.

The meeting is at 7 p.m. at Irvine City Hall, 17200 Jamboree Road. The Transportation Commission makes recommendations to the Irvine City Council, which is expected to review the monorail project in January.

McDonnell Douglas has said the line would be “North America’s first public airport monorail serving an off-site business complex.” The county Airport Commission and the County Board of Supervisors, which govern the airport, have already approved the plan.
