Millionaire Greek banker and press baron George Koskotas, who disappeared from Greece while facing charges of embezzlement and forgery, was arrested at an airport in Bedford, Mass., the FBI said. Koskotas, 34, disappeared from Athens on Nov. 6 despite a court order requiring him to remain in the country until investigations of charges against him were completed. The Greek government has called for Koskotas’ extradition. The multimillion-dollar scandal and disappearance of Koskotas embarrassed the government of Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou. Opposition parties have charged that the Socialist Greek government masterminded Koskotas’ flight. The government’s public order and justice ministers have resigned.
