Tropical Storm Keith brought gale-force winds and rains to Bermuda on Thursday, but it posed little threat of major damage as it headed for probable extinction.

Late Thursday, the storm’s center was about 200 miles north-northeast of Bermuda, moving east-northeast at about 40 miles per hour, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami. It carried winds of up to 45 m.p.h.

Forecasters said winds and rain were expected to diminish late Thursday as the storm moved farther away from the islands. In Florida, there were hurricane-strength wind gusts Tuesday and Wednesday, but there were no injuries or major damage.
