Cooper Cos. signed a definitive agreement to sell its ophthalmic surgical products business to Alcon Laboratories Inc., a subsidiary of Nestle SA, for about $325 million in cash. The sale of Cooper Surgical, which is based in Irvine, was initially announced Oct. 6. Its Palo Alto-based parent said the deal should be completed by year-end.
