Local News in Brief : Stanton : Fire That Gutted Home Believed to Be Arson

An arson fire Monday gutted a vacant home, causing $60,000 damage, officials said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, “but it is an incendiary fire,” Orange County Fire Department spokeswoman Patti Range said.
About 20 firefighters controlled the 9:14 a.m. fire at 11461 Santa Rosalia St. within 17 minutes.
Range said that the tenants who were renting the home vacated it about a week ago and “apparently left it a mess.”
There were campers, old cars and furniture in the back yard, and overgrown weeds surrounded the house, she said.
