A special election to fill the vacant Ward 6 City Council seat will be held April 4. Filing for the seat will open Monday and close Jan. 26.

The seat became vacant when Dan Young, who still had 2 years to serve, was elected mayor in the November election.

The candidacy filing period for the vacant Ward 6 City Council seat in Santa Ana will open Jan. 5 and close Jan. 26. An incorrect date was listed Tuesday in The Times.

The ward includes the southernmost part of the city, with Warner Avenue the northern boundary across most of its width. One resident of the district has already declared his intention to run. He is William C. Camp, 27, a businessman.
