An 80-year-old Laguna Hills man drowned Tuesday night after he was trapped inside his car that rolled down an embankment into Dana Point Harbor, authorities said.

A California Highway Patrol officer at the scene identified the victim as Robert Brick.

Brick, his wife, and two others arrived about 6:45 p.m. at a restaurant at the north end of Dana Drive overlooking the harbor. After his wife and the others had left the car, Brick began backing the car into a parking space. Officers said Brick then slumped over the wheel, possibly the victim of a heart attack. The late-model Toyota sedan kept rolling over the curb and down an embankment into 10 feet of water.

By the time Sheriff’s Department Harbor Patrol divers reached him, Brick was dead, officers said.
