South Gate : 2 More Used Police Cars Sold to Tijuana
The South Gate Police Department has sold two more surplus police cars to the Tijuana Police Department in Mexico for $1,000 apiece. Both cars are 1985 Dodge Diplomats.
Earlier this year, the South Gate police sold five other used cars to the Tijuana police for $900 each. The money goes into the city’s general fund budget.
The sales establish a liaison between the two police departments, South Gate Police Chief Ronald George said. “They can use the cars. It also opens communications. A lot of stolen cars are taken there and stripped. The police keep us informed,” George said.
