Angela Aames; Played in Films and TV Series

Angela Aames, the actress who most recently appeared on television as Penny the fitness instructor on “The Dom DeLuise Show,” has been found dead in her West Hills home, it was reported Wednesday. She was 32.

Pat Smith, a spokeswoman for the county coroner’s office, said the cause of death has not been released, pending the results of toxicological tests.

Miss Aames, who was found in her San Fernando Valley residence on Sunday, had bit parts in several television shows and was the character Honey in the “B. J. and the Bear” series.

She grew up in Pierre, S.D., acted in high school plays and attended the University of South Dakota before coming to Hollywood 10 years ago to pursue an acting career, said her agent, Mike Marx.

She had guest appearances in such shows as “The Fall Guy,” “Alice,” “Cheers,” “Hill Street Blues,” “Night Court” and “The Comeback Kid,” a television movie.

Her motion pictures credits included “Chopping Mall,” “The Lost Empire,” “Bachelor Party,” “Scarface” and “Basic Training.”

She is survived by her husband, Mark Haugland, her mother, two brothers and three sisters.
