Pacific Bell’s 10 million customers in California will be served by a reorganized sales and service office, effective Jan. 1, the company said. A new organization, Customer Services, will combine the existing operations unit and both the residential and small-business elements of the company’s marketing department. “Integration of sales and services will allow us to pursue our customer service goals while continuing to improve our financial performance,” said President Philip J. Quigley. No layoffs are involved in the reorganization, he added.
