Arafat to Meet U.S. Jewish Leaders for Talks in Stockholm

STOCKHOLM — PLO leader Yasser Arafat will meet American Jewish leaders in Stockholm for talks aimed at revitalizing the Middle East peace process, a Swedish Foreign Ministry statement said today.
The ministry said the meeting in the Swedish capital would occur Tuesday but declined to provide the names of the American Jews who will meet with the Palestine Liberation Organization leader.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Bo Heineback said the Americans who would meet with Arafat did not represent any particular organization but were respected representatives of an important part of Jewish public opinion in the United States.
