Rykoff-Sexton Inc. reported that second-quarter profit rose 29% to $5.8 million on sales of $332.6 million, up 15% from the year-ago period. The Los Angeles-based company said the gains showed that programs aimed at improving sales and profitability were successful. Rykoff-Sexton manufactures and distributes food and related products for restaurants and institutions.
