Another Japanese entry into the U.S. music business was announced with the formation of Windswept Pacific, a joint venture of FujiPacific Music, a division of the Japanese telecommunications firm Fujisankei Group, and two music veterans, former Warner Music President Chuck Kaye and former Paramount Pictures executive Joel Sill. Windswept recently acquired Big Seven Music, which owns the rights to thousands of songs popular in the 1950s and 1960s, including “Lullaby of Birdland,” “Why Do Fools Fall in Love” and “I Think We’re Alone Now.”
