Carl C. Icahn said he does not intend to sell his 14.8% stake in Texaco, raising speculation that he may be interested in launching a new bid for the oil company. Wall Street sources said the investor was in talks with several parties interested in his stake, but Icahn said in a statement that he considers Texaco stock undervalued and may add to his stake, depending on market conditions. Investors pushed Texaco’s shares up $1.125 to $48.875 on speculation that he may join or start a takeover effort.
