About 5,000 striking workers marched Tuesday on Yugoslavia’s Parliament, demanding double pay in a fresh outbreak of labor unrest.

The workers, from a Belgrade shoe factory, marched in pouring rain, carrying Yugoslav flags and shouting slogans. Ljiljana Popovic, one of the workers, complained, “We earn a mere 300,000 dinars ($66) a month, and we just can’t live on that money.”
