Coast Guard Seizes Boat With 37,000 Pounds of Pot

CHARLESTON, S.C. —
The Coast Guard seized a boat carrying 37,000 pounds of marijuana 100 miles offshore and arrested eight Colombians, officials said. “This is the second-largest marijuana seizure of the year” for the agency district that includes South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico, Petty Officer James D. Turner said Tuesday.
