Christie’s East in New York will auction 193 lots of animation art and illustrations along with antique furniture, decorative objects and Oriental art on Tuesday. Some of the more interesting items include a watercolor of Mickey Mouse autographed by Walt Disney (expected to bring $1,000-$2,000); a cel of Thumper from “Bambi” ($3,000-$4,000); a drawing of Donald Duck and his nephews by comic-book artist Carl Barks ($1,000-$1,500), and two editorial cartoons by Winsor McCay ($2,000-$4,000 each). Buyers with more conventional tastes may prefer a set of eight Imari platters ($800-$1,200); an 18th-Century Venetian walnut commode ($3,000-$4,000), or a bisque bust of George Washington ($800-$1,200).
