Fluor Corp. said 1988 earnings rose 112% to $56.4 million from a year ago. Revenues from continuing operations for the fiscal year were $5.1 billion, up 31% from the previous year. Company officials said results for Fluor Daniel, the Irvine company’s engineering and construction unit, were significantly improved, and investments in coal and lead also contributed to the results. For the fourth quarter, profit was $23.6 million, compared to $145.5 million a year ago. The 1987 figure included a significant one-time gain associated with completion of the company’s restructuring program and related income tax benefit.
