Control Data Corp. plans to sell its Scientific Information Services business to Power Computing Co., the companies said. The price of the deal, expected to be completed by the end of the year, was not disclosed. The SIS unit, based in Kansas City, Mo., markets time-sharing services to engineering, scientific and electric power utility customers primarily in the United States. Under the terms of the agreement, Power Computing will assume responsibility for all customer contracts of SIS. Power Computing supplies computing services to the electric power industry.
