A bank officer who was reported missing a month ago after she withdrew a “substantial amount of money” was found, naked and hysterical, outside a closed pizza parlor early today, police said.

Sgt. Sharon Warms said restaurant employees found 31-year-old Catherine Thom slumped at the door shortly after midnight.

Warms said Thom apparently had been held against her will, but the sergeant could provide no other details immediately.

The woman was taken to a hospital with a cut over an eye and bruises on her arms and was released.

Thom, an assistant vice president at First City Bank in Arlington, Tex., was last seen Nov. 14 in her car at a drive-in window of the bank, police said. Police said she wrote a check for a “substantial amount of money.”

Arlington police theorized that the woman was trying to signal bank employees that she was in trouble when she wrote the check.

Thom asked the teller how much she could withdraw and included her driver’s license for the transaction, even though she was well known by the tellers. The teller could not say if there was someone else in the car.
