The Navy has awarded Litton Industries’ Ingalls Shipbuilding division a $466.5-million contract to build two more Arleigh Burke Aegis guided missile destroyers. The award brings to three the number of Aegis destroyers currently contracted to Ingalls and raises Ingalls’ business backlog to about $4.2 billion, Beverly Hills-based Litton said.
