SAN DIEGO COUNTY - News from Dec. 16, 1988

* TRW, the parent company of TRW LSI Products of La Jolla, has signed a letter of intent to sell the business and assets of TRW LSI to KDT Industries, a closely held aerospace company in Austin, Tex. The sale price was not disclosed.

TRW announced it was selling the division, a manufacturer of integrated circuits, last March. At the time, TRW acknowledged that TRW LSI’s sales had flattened out in recent years but denied that the sale was linked to financial performance. Rather, it said, the sale was a result of TRW’s reorganization around its core businesses of automotive products, information systems, space and defense.
