David N. Barry III has been elected vice president and general counsel of SECcorp and its electric utility subsidiary, Southern California Edison. SECcorp also named John R. Fielder vice president-information systems of Southern California Edison Co. Barry, 61, will succeed John R. Bury, who retires March 1, 1989.

Lawrence T. Papay, Edison senior vice president, has been appointed to manage Edison’s nuclear engineering and operations organization, including the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station and its nuclear engineering and licensing department.
