Concord police reported a total of 101 arrests as they sought to control a confrontation between anti-abortion and pro-abortion forces outside a clinic. Most of those arrested were members of the anti-abortion “Operation Rescue,” seeking to force people entering and leaving the clinic to climb over them. One person trying to leave the Planned Parenthood-run clinic was arrested, however, after bumping one of the anti-abortion demonstrators. Pro-abortion members of the Bay Area Coalition in Opposition to Operation Rescue have been confronting the anti-abortionists in a series of demonstrations around the Bay Area.
