And two country legends--Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings--are recovering in the same Nashville hospital today. Cash underwent successful coronary bypass surgery Monday in Baptist Hospital--where Jennings also underwent heart surgery Dec. 12. Cash’s surgery went fine, according to his doctor, Robert Hardin, who performed the operation with Dr. Kenneth H. Laws. “There was no evidence of any damage to his heart,” Hardin said, adding that Cash is now listed in stable condition. Jennings was moved from intensive care to a private room during the weekend, and doctors hope he will be home for Christmas.
