Daisy Systems Corp. of Mountain View named Norman E. Friedmann its chairman and chief executive. Friedmann, who had been president and chief executive of Daisy since April, 1987, takes over as chairman from Max Palevsky, who will now serve as vice chairman.

Daisy recently announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire Cadnetix Corp. of Boulder, Colo., a supplier of printed circuit board computer-aided design systems. The merged company has combined annual revenue of $200 million and is expected to become a more significant force in the electronic systems design marketplace.

In a separate appointment connected with the merger, Bruce Holland, the current president and chief executive of Cadnetix, was named president and chief operating officer of Daisy. The appointment is effective Jan. 2.
